What you're saying is that the drive doesn't know that there's a disc in it?

What is on the disc? Movie? Data? Also, is it a recordable disc?

Can your new Dell read it?

I would see if your new dell can read it. If not, its a bad disc.

hi ian

ok an update...its a sony burner so i went to the sony website and did a test of the burner and its working a ok...the test used staples dvds and the dvd
master that i want to make a copy from is a maxell.so at this point its either the blank dvds or the software im using to acrually do the whole pro-
cess.im using cd burner xp or ashampoo either or..is there a better one than these 2?
