Memorex 15 Pack 8.5GB 8x DVD+R DL Discs - $12.98 @ Staples

Staples has 15 packs of Memorex 8x DVD+R DL discs on sale this week for $12.98. The last I checked, these were RITEK S04, which aren't as good as say Verbatim's, but at less than $1 a disc, its a pretty good deal.

They seemed to burn pretty well in my LGh22n burner but not so good in my others so depends on the burner you use and your luck. I might have to go pick some up again and see how they do in the 7240 as well, thanks.

Well I went out today and did a blank media run. I bought the 15 pack of Memorex DL and my 7240 claims 8x burns, plus I got another pack of the Verbatim 100 pack plus media that's also on sale at Office Max this week. It should be MCC-004 and burns at 20x in the 7240 with usually good results. The 100 pack was 19.99 again, I bought a pack last time they had that price and have burned through about 60 so far.
I haven't found any of the UAE made disk yet, but they are the same folks that make the falcon media that many of us liked. I'm doing a burn at 8x to the Memorex DL right now with the 7240 and we'll see how the new drive likes it.

All the media I have gotten last few times was made in Taiwan including the DL of course. I guess that burn isn't hideous though the PIE is pretty high. It seemed to play fine in power dvd when it was in the 1655 so as long as it works I think it's be OK for folks doing giveaways and non critical stuff.
