Lg GSA-H22N crashes when reading disks?

Hi everyone,

I've got a problem with my Lg GSA H22N that I hope someone can help me with. I haven't been able to get it to read/play disks. Anytime I put any kind of disk (CD, DVD etc) for it to read, my computer crashes and reboots. I have no idea what's going on. When I first got the drive, it burned dvds really slowly ( I think it took about 1 1/2 hrs for one) but using the instructions on how to enable DMA by dodecahedron fixed that. It did take a couple of tries but now it burns really quickly. I didn't mind it not being able to read disks before since I was using another drive to do that but my other burner isn't working either. =(

Anyone have any suggestions or know what's wrong?

Anything in the event log? Have you tried another cable?

It's the master right now, I had more problems with it on the slave before. But I will try switching it again.

So I did switch My h22n into the slave and it works! Yay! Thanks Ian for the suggestion.
However I'm wondering if I get another h22n ( I like to have 2 drives) then won't I have the same problem?

Well FWIW, I have a Liteon 20x and a LG 22X, if the LG is master and Liteon is slave both drives will work in PIO mode but they work fine after I switched the LG to slave and Liteon to Master.
