I wasn't too crazy about the first trailer. I then saw a few pictures and now the second trailer. I just don't like what I see. I don't believe they ever mentioned/had starships built on a planet's surface before, they have always been built in space (in drydocks), so showing the Enterprise built on Earth in both trailers is just plain wrong. Second, is the characters - they're age and how they met. It strongly looks that Spock and Kirk didn't meet until Kirk became the Captain of the Enterrprise, where they meet the other Characters for the first time as well (Uhura, Sulu, and Scotty). Chekov wasn't in the first season, he was in seasons 2 and 3 AND much younger then the other characters. They did established that Kirk and McCoy knew each other for a number of years before the Enterprise. There were 3 characters that Kirk knew and went to the academy together, Gary Mitchell, Ben Finney and Finnegan. This movie is nothing more than a "reboot" since they are throwing established continuity out they window (just like they did with Star Trek: Enterprise - which is one of the 3 reasons is sucked). I really hate what they are doing - starting with Star Trek: Enterprise and now this - they're really screwing things up and going in the wrong direction. I don't know how well this movie is going to do.
