External HD not recog. after DVD sw install?

I just installed DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter, RipIt4Me, ImgBurn (latest of these four), and DVDFab HD Decrypter 4.1.2.0 with only rebooting with the install of this last program as requested (only one that requested I reboot) to finish the install. Then my Seagate 1TB eSATA external HD was not recognized and Windows XP SP2 would lock up at the XP screen in some strange purplish-black thing. I unplugged my external HD and everything seems fine now, but I would like to use this drive. Anyone know what's up and how to fix this? Thank you.

EDIT: fixed; apparently it had something to do with all the autoplay features getting reset on the drives by installing all or some of those programs.....whatever.

I hate it when they do that. Every damn burning program out there seems to mess with them. No.. I don't want to burn a disc every time I put a blank in there.
