Asus 20B1LT and LiteOn iHas 120, same drive?

Here u can see both drives with open tray, on the top is the Asus, below the LiteOn

For camparing here the LiteOn 18A1H

Some weeks ago I want to make some burn.tests with the Asus, but after some not completely readable media (even with MXL RG03) I stopped it. Now i made a first burn with the iHas 120, Primedisc DVD-R 8x (RITEKG05), and the result is also shitty. Maybe many ppl here think "Ok, it´s bad Ritek-media", but I burned a lot of it with very good results.

3rd scan: LiteOn 18A1H

Not one is good imho, but the scan of the 18A1H (which is also a forgiving scanner) is awful

To compare I had uploaded a scan of a LG GH20N

I don't have either drive but it wouldn't surprise me if that were the case.

What does the top of the DRW20B1LT look like? Does it have that plastic circle like Lite-On's drives?

There are some definite similarities there as well as some differences. Even if they're not based on the same design, its likely that they use the same chipset.
