Verbatim DVD-R DL which burner

Postby apvm on Fri Oct 24, 2008 8:45 am

I was ordering some Verbatim DVD+R DL but ordered Verbatim DVD-R DL 4X instead, now wondering which burner is good for them at 2.4x

Samsung S203S
Liteon DH-20A4P
LG GH22-NP20

Or can you recommend a drive which is good for DVD+R DL and DVD-R dl...Pioneer 216?

I'm not familiar with the Samsung, but the Lite-On and LG work fine with Verbatim's 4x DVD-R DL media. Don't bother writing to them at 2x or whatever. Just burn them at 4x.

I haven't tested the Pioneer 216 yet, but I've been less than impressed with the 116's writing quality with DL media.

I've been pretty happy with Verbatim's 4x DVD-R DL media. I have yet to find a drive that writes well to those Ridata discs though.

Thanks, I think i'll use the LG with it, as for the Ridata, since Newegg was promoting themselves over here in Canada and there was a $20 off coupon for orders over $20 on Oct 22, so I ordered those as well to try out. Thanks again for your insight.
