Amazon has dropped the price of the Sony BDP-S300 Blu-ray Disc Player to $199, which is half its original list price. On top of that, the player is shipped free.

As I've said in the past, Amazon is just clearing out its old stock but this is a nice alternative to the cheap Chinese players.

Price is starting to get there. My demo Panasonic has played the few bd movies I have so far and it's a first gen player.
If you just want a machine that simply plays hd movies cheap I'd think it's a good choice for that price.

Amazon dropped the price of the BDP-S300 a few bucks. Circuit City has it for $199 now too.

I bought the Toshiba A3 while ago and stuck with it, so as far as Blue-Ray concern I will wait until ptice of BR Recorder(not player) drop to $100 then will buy one.
