lost use of CD and DVD drives

Postby amcole56 on Tue Oct 07, 2008 11:31 am

Not sure if this is thr right place to ask this question.

I was given a Blu-Ray disk and tried to read it on s regular DVD drive. No go. I thought it was just a program required and I downloaded "something" from the internet to try out. Yes I now know it is a technology and requires the appropiate drive. I fould up royaly and now cannot get access to either my CD or my DVD drive.

They do not show up in Windows Explorer.
They do show by right clicking on My Computer/Manage/Device manager, however they have a yellow circle with an exclamation mark in them.

I'm at a loss to know what to do. Help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Have you tried deleting the drives in device manager and rebooting?
