Do you ever take the bus?

Postby MonteLDS on Fri Oct 03, 2008 1:59 pm

when was the last time any of you guys were on a bus? I can't recall a time in recent history when I was ever on. I have been on trains but not a bus.

I took the city bus ot lunch about 4-5 months ago. Before that, I can't remember the last time I rode one.

Yeah, we Americans rely a lot on our cars. It always amazes me how often Europeans use mass transit. Then again, their gas is even more expensive than ours.

Their gas is more, they tend to be closer to where they need to go, their buses run more often and might be easier to catch on any corner.
Out here they took away most of the cross street buses so even if you wanted to take one you might have to walk 10 blocks to get to a main street that has the bus going where you need to, plus some of the schedules get pretty far apart later at night and on weekends. They also seem to keep raising the ticket and pass prices, and adding more zones so you have to pay extra if your going a long ways.

They're raising bus prices here too. I heard on the news, they're going to raise it 50 cents. At like $1.75, its almost cheaper to get a car.

I took the bus a bunch of times while I was in San Francisco last month. Lots of buses/trollies/trains there.
