LG DVD pauses during play

I have a LG model DR1F9H DVD recorder that has played and recorded perfectly for the past year then suddenly started pausing itself during play. It does this on all formats of disks I've tried to play in this that have previously played fine. any ideas or is it time to replace?

Does it totally hang or is it just a slight pause and then it starts playing again?

if you hit the play button it will play again for 30 - 45 seconds. the pause icon will flash up also when it happens

after finally getting an answer from LG support, i decided to go into the unit myself. after getting the estimate on what they would charge to check it out and fix i figured i could buy another unit cheaper. i just changed the dvd unit in it with one i had on the shelf and for now, its working again. cheap fix but if it goes out again, the next unit i purchase will NOT be an LG

What is the warranty on it? I'm guessing it was less than a year if they were going to charge you to fix it.

yeah, although it didn't have many hours on it, it was 13 months old. when looking at $70/hr plus shipping both ways and the cost of parts, it just didn't make sense.
