Amazon has Samsung's combo HD DVD Blu-ray player on sale for $499.98 with free shipping.

Samsung BD-UP5000

These things have really come down in price. They were nearly $800 a few months ago.

Hmm.. dbuys.com has it for $10 less with free shipping. PC Connection has it for $461 but it isn't in stock. #-o

Wow... at those prices it's FINALLY worth getting the combo player over a pair of standalones. :o

They are having problems playing SOME disks so I'd check AVS and places to see if they have them all working before you plunk down 500 bucks for one.
The LG second gen players supposedly has some issues with features and things but I think playing any disk that's in it isn't one of them.
Now the problems with 1.0/1.1/2.0 versions is still probably a issue as well if that's important to anyone wanting one.
I would have loved to go a multistandard box but I guess for now I got a good enough deal on my 2 machines.
