Lite-On DH-20A3P DVD burner question

Just installed a Lite-On DH-20A3P DVD burner. What seems strange is that the light does not show any activity when reading or writing. My HD light comes on instead of the DVD light. It seems to be working properly. I have burned a DVD and tested it with CD Speed. The manual states that the light comes on during reading and writing, but it doesn't, just the HD light. Anyone have any experience with this drive?

I don't own the drive, but it is probably just a dead LED.

Yeah, a dead LED is the only thing I can think of too.

The light does work. When I eject the tray the will come on.

Bad QC... if not having the LED bothers you (probably would bother me), RMA the drive and get a replacement.
