At a recent press event, the BDA presented some survey results, showing the market share of Blu-ray Disc recoders in Japan. While I'm sure that these results are skewed somewhat in Blu-ray's favor, its interesting to see how quickly the Japanese are swapping their DVD recorders for Blu-ray and how little market share HD DVD recorders have.
The first picture shows the market share of HD DVD, Blu-ray and standard DVD recorders. The second shows just Blu-ray and HD DVD. The last picture shows the number of units sold over the past year.
