Going by the specs, that Mad Dog drive is a Samsung SH-S203B.

Thats not a bad price for that drive in store, and yes the specs make it a s203b, only SATA drive I know about that supports 16x DL.
Mine burns OK, very fast, but not as godlike as some folks seem to get.
Buying in store makes it easier to return if you get a subpar unit.
