Nero problem burning

Postby ramspot on Tue Sep 04, 2007 2:25 am

I have just set up my new Memorex DVD recorder and it's included software (Nero 7 Essentials Memorex Suite). The new drive can read music and data CDs and a movie DVD. It said it successfully recorded a DVD of my data and a CD of my data. Neither newly recorded disk will play on any of my drives. I get the message "I:\ is not accessible. Incorrect function." Or "Please insert a disk into drive I" where the new disk is already. In W Explorer, the drive is referred first as a CD drive then a DVD-RAM Drive. I used the DVD that came with the recorder for my test recording.

I read that there is "Major bug prevents Burning ROM from launching on some systems after Nero Express has launched". Is this what I am experiencing? Do you know of a fix?

Part of me thinks it could be bad discs (when I see those errors it's usually a disc that either messed up or was defective) but the fact it's 2 discs is interesting. Are you getting the exact same errors on each drive, or are they different? Did you use a new IDE cable when you installed the new drive, or re-use the old one? (try swapping the cable if you can)

Did you uninstall any previous versions of Nero before installing the new one?

Don't worry too much about what the drive says it is (DVD-RAM, CD, etc)-- Windows is flaky.

Try to find better discs (Verbatim is easy to find and pretty good) and try it again.
