I just want to buy a drive that can write DVD-RW DLs and/or DVD+RW DLs. What drive model can handle these formats?

If SATA is an option for you, try the Samsung SH-S203B... I imagine the IDE version (SH-202x) may as well, but not sure.

@SithTracy: does the Samsung really burn DL rewritables ? AFAIK no drive presently available supports this.

According to NeroInfoTool it does, but I have no DL RW media to test with. Then again, NeroInfoTool reports my BenQ DW1640 as being able to write to it too... So Henri, hold off on making a purchase...

Nothing official has been announced yet in terms of drive support, that I'm aware of.

Keep waiting....

In the mean time, Sony and Panasonic Blu-Ray burners can handle BD-REDL already :wink:
Punch Cards -> Paper Tape -> Tape Drive -> 8" Floppy Diskette -> 5 1/4" Floppy Diskette -> 3 1/2" "Flippy" Diskette -> CD-R -> DVD±R -> BD-R
