OK, what's up with this Wii business?

Best Buy, my local flyer has Wiis at $250, no rainchecks, one per and a minimum of 9 per store.
Could not find on the web, on line flyer showed it but could not click through to Cart.

Circuit City has none.

I got to BB at 9:50 and they were lined up like Black Friday.
Well, they had 40 so I'm back with one for my grandson.

But, what's up with these Wiis?

I picked up a pack of Verbatim DVD+R DL discs at Best Buy this morning. At that price, I couldn't pass them up. I almost got that Pioneer too but at this point, I have enough drives.

Anyone know who makes those NEXXTECH DVD+R DL discs? Ritek?

Yeah, I was thinking of picking up some DVD DLs also when I was there getting the Wii.
But then I recalled how four or five years ago we were buying the 50 packs of MIJ Fuji CD-Rs at Best Buy on MIR one week and then the 30 packs of those spiral patterned MIJ Fujis at OfficeMax the next week until I had 6 hundred of them and don't know when I'll ever use 'em.

Thing is, my cars now have players that will play CD-Rs with MP3 and WMAs, so I'm burning far less CDs and now I don't use the portable CD player (it's with the Walkman) nor do I use a boombox with a CD Player anymore. I use the SanDisk player with earbuds instead of the portable and I now have a boombox that takes a feed from the SanDisk player and does not have a CD player.

So, all in all, I'm burning CDs at one tenth the frequency of several years ago.

The Wii is a hot commodity. Everyone wants one, and rightly so! Have you played it with your grandson yet?

This weekend, I hope.
I took it to his house Monday night and we started to get it set up,
but I wasn't in the mood to RTFM, so we'll pick it up then.

It must be a hot deal as Circuit City lists it as out of stock,
Best Buy at a limited number at $250 and $320 seems to be the going price on EBay.

Did buy the component cable to get a little better visual on their HDTV and the remote battery charging stand with rechargeables from monoprice.
