song breaks and Nero 6.6.0.13?

Postby SkaarjMaster on Sun Jul 29, 2007 8:06 pm

Anyone know why some songs will play fine in Winamp and then after burning to a CD-R there is a slight break between songs? It's just a very very quick little blip but is noticable. This is mostly for albums that the songs run into each other like "Dark Side Of The Moon", "Operation: Mindcrime", etc. And, yes, I do check the no song breaks box or whatever that is. Thank you.

You're using DAO and setting the gap to 0 seconds, right?

I use Nero Express and I believe some time it burns it fine and other times it doesn't. I may have to bag Express and just use the main Nero part from now on.........Express is just so convenient though. :(

In order to not get a glitch the wav files need to be in exact increments of 1/75 of a second (1 frame). If they are not, silence is inserted and may sound like a tick, blip, etc. Are you changing the files at all after you rip them?

Some of them are MP3s. How would this apply to MP3s? I know I can just rip the WAVs and have it be fine, but what's the rule with MP3s and does it make a difference whether you use Express or not?

If you want the music to play seamlessly, with no gaps, the audio must be in increments of exactly 1/75 of a second - 588 samples. Source doesn't matter.

So how do you do that without cutting part of the song off?

If you rip from CD and do not edit it, you should be good to go. Did you Trim the beginning or anything?

I usually don't trim at all when I rip from a CD.

So what is encoder delay and zero padding and why would someone want to encode MP3s with these settings?
