What do you keep your media in?

I was very curious about what you guy's are keeping your cd's & dvd's in?Being most everybody's buying TY & Verb's.You'd want good place's for them.

I like to use clamshell cases.Because,they still don't take-up alot of space and still will protect your disc well.And every now & then I'll use poly sleeves.

For important stuff? Jewel Cases only. For regular stuff, I use sleeves and binders (and knowingly don't expect it to live more then 2-3 years at best).

I use the mini cases, paper sleeves, and big wallets for mine depending on what they are for. The give aways I use paper sleeves for, the system disks I use only ocassionally but need to be able to be easy to find and handy I use the big wallet case thingies, and the videos and special keepers I use the slim cases for.
I'm always thinking about better ways to organize them and might try one of the big aluminum case sometimes, at least for the videos.

I find often enough I run out of space and end up with piles of discs in drawers with no cases. If its important it will likely end up in an old spindle. I keep all of my backed up data and pictures in a 100 pk spindle off site. Its about 1/4 full of DVD's.
I don't worry too much about DVD's since the have the plastic coating on both sides, but am a little more carefull with cd's.

Are those CD wallets unsafe? I have a nice, shiny new pack of T02s with me, and I have to back up a bunch of stuff. Was planning on using some nice big CaseLogic wallets.

Ok, that was one of my typical tongue-in-cheek comments,
but I am using flash memory more and CDs/DVDs less.

I really love this combination 2 GB SD card/SD Card reader as it can be be used as USB pen/jump drive because the reader is real small.
You can always find 1 GB and 2 GB cards on sale.

I use 'em in my music player.
No more portable CD player; it's with my Walkman.
My newest CD/DVD player has a USB slot so I can watch video and play songs on to my TV from that combo reader/card.
The new headset in the dash of my wife's Jeep has a 3.5mm connector so I can play directly from that little player using the earphone connection.
Many of the new head units also have USB ports so you can play songs from the USB reader.

Actually, they are little too expensive to use for long term archival, or on-the-shelf, storage.

Note of caution, there are 4GB SDHC cards in the market that will not work with SD card readers.
SD and SDHC cards are physically, but not functionally interchangeable.
If you buy and SD card, make sure it will work with your current gear.

Oh yeah, also use 2 GB SD cards in my DeLorme PN-20 GPSr.
I can hold all the detail maps of SoCal and Arizona on one card.

What's a good reader/writer?I want it too write as well as read.
Should I buy a internal drive for my pc or external for my 2.0 USB port?

That first thing to which I linked is a SD card reader/writer that comes with a 2GB SD card as a two piece combo.
You flip open the latch/cover on the big end and insert/remove the SD card.
You slide the cap off the small end and insert the USB male connector into a USB port on your PC to transfer data between the PC and the SD card.

You can leave the reader/writer with the card inserted in the port of a PC and use it for drag 'n' drop reading and writing as you would do with InCD and CD-RW or DVD-RW media in a packet writing mode.

I have no problems with excess humidity or noxious gases, so I don't need to protect (constantly) against those.

I don't trust jewel cases, unless I source them myself from an archival supplier that guarantees no placticizer use in them.
