That sounds like the Playo media I had. The only markings on those discs was that IFPI on the ring. If I remember right, the MID's were fake too.

I bought these TDK branded DVD+R DL 8x also at MediaMarkt (Germany)
For these TDK does mention "Made in Taiwan " on the packaging

Image

These TDK have the same MID code as the Intenso ones:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unique Disc Identifier : [DVD+R-DL: RICOHJPN-D01-067 ]
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Disc & Book Type : [DVD+R DL] - [DVD-ROM]
Manufacturer Name : [Ricoh Co. Ltd.]
Manufacturer ID : [RICOHJPN]
Media Type ID : [D01]
Product Revision : [067]
Blank Disc Capacity : [4,173,824 Sectors = 8.55 GB (7.96 GiB)]
Recording Speeds : [2.4x , 3.3x-8x]
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
[ DVD Identifier V5.0.1 - http://DVD.Identifier.CDfreaks.com ]
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

inner hub:
difficult to read because it is printed in black on both sides of the tansparent part of the hub
ON THE LABEL SIDE I can read something very long: K7102458DES02ETA701244G10436

outer hub:
on the label side: L10127G1030607
on the dye side: L00606G10125

The TDK ones seem to have a proper Ricoh stamper, but I can already tell from the picture that the inner hub serials do not match my Moser Baer made RICOHJPND01-067, but they *DO* seem to match Ritek's standard appearence. It's also possible that it belongs to Ricoh's own Japanese production, as I believe their serial system is similar to Ritek's.

Thanks a lot dolphin !
I just bought a single one in a jewel case (3,79€) and it burned well at 4x in my Plextor PX-760A (firmware 1.06).

You can find them at the same shop in spindles of 10 for under 3 € a piece.
So I am going to buy a spindle soon just to see if they are the same as in jewel cases.

Looks like my Intenso is fake media, and TDK is real Ricoh :-?

Intenso = Probably UMEDISC
TDK= RItek (with ricoh stamper)
Trying to make something "foolproof" only forces nature to make a better fool.

I bought some Ricoh DVD+D DL:
« RICOH DVD+R Double Layer Rohlinge, Printable, 25er Spindel »
http://www.pearl.de/a-PX6099-1316.shtml

Image

They are Ricoh branded white printable and the the side label of my Ricoh branded spindle says:
« Made in Japan
EDP 79037 »

inner hub:
The inner hub is completeley different from the TDK ones
only on the dye side printed in "black dots" on the tansparent part of the hub:
RE33 07166 1044 500936
" " " " " " " 1042 300908 (other sample)

outer hub:
on the dye side: L00606G10105
So the stamper code ON THE DYE SIDE (the same for all the 25-spindle) is absolutly identical to the TDK branded ones !
So in both cases (for the TDK MIT and for the Ricoh MIJ) it seems to be a Ricoh stamper

From my knowlege I cannot tell you the japanese manufactuter of these Ricoh DLs
Maybe somebody has an idea ?

These Ricoh DVD+R DL 8x burn well in PX-760SA FW 1.07 @ 4x, especially the 2nd layer

Because of the price of 1,20 € I may buy a lot of the special offer ("Sonderposten") they have at the PEARL shop.
It is only a short drive towards the german Black Forest from where I live
and the selling of Verbatim MKM-003 MIS (Singapore) is towards the end at MediaMarkt in Freiburg.
Now you fond mostly spindles of MII (India)

Coming sometimes if you wish ...

The Sum8 and Sum1 scans these:
- RicohJPN-D01-067 MIJ (Japan)

compared to scans of:
- TDK branded +R DLs with the same MID code RicohJPN-D01-067
- Verbatim MKM-003 MIS (Singapore)
- Verbatim MKM-003 MIT (Taiwan)
- Verbatim MKM-003 MII (India)
and burned with the same burner (a Plextor PX-760SA FW 1.07 @ 4x)

The same shop sells INTENSO DVD+R DL 8x for around 1 € a piece [compared to around 1,20 € for the Ricoh DLs]
« INTENSO DVD+R Rohlinge 8x Double Layer 8,5GB 10er Spindel »
http://www.pearl.de/a-PE5181-1316.shtml
« INTENSO DVD+R Rohlinge 8x Double Layer 8,5GB 50er Spindel »
http://www.pearl.de/a-PE5182-1316.shtml

I did bot but any, mainly because I noticed this thread at cdfreaks:
« Fake Ricoh DVD+R DL »
http://club.cdfreaks.com/f76/fake-ricoh ... dl-220845/
which gives all the following 15 brands as fakes in this RicohJPN-D01 code:

Datawrite
Emtec
Ridisc
Omega Freestyle
Windata
Cerebro
Titanum
Omega printable
Intenso
1TEK
SK
Elite
Aone
Mediarange
Tesco

Some of the scans published in the thread pointed above are horrible with PIE wawes like tsunamis and the TRT failing,
see:
« Fake Ricoh DVD+R DL »
http://club.cdfreaks.com/f76/fake-ricoh ... dl-220845/ http://club.cdfreaks.com/f76/fake-ricoh ... ost2140105

Among all the brands Intenso is nearly acceptable and Mediarange seems to be « second best »
Womi wrote:Pioneer DVR-216L 1.06, 7472MB burned at 4x
MID: RICOHJPN D01

No hub code
Stamper code: DVD+R DL L0 902-R (extremely hard to see, barely visible)
Made in China by UmeDisc

sold as 'Intenso DVD+R DL 8x' in 10pc cakebox

Flawless TRT included in the burn graph.
