Any way to force Nero to burn audio cdr at 4x?

Postby burticus on Fri Jun 22, 2007 12:39 am

I'm using an older version of Nero 6.3 something. My car cd player is super finicky about cdr's so I wanted to burn some nice and slow to see if it solves my problem. Nero's lowest burn speed is 8x on both of my burners which doesn't get the job done.... I want 4x burning, hell 2x if that's what it takes.

Anyone have any thoughts on how to make nero burn slow? I have dug and dug through the config options and googled my brains out.

Or any other progs out there that will do it?

I knew I should have kept that 2x scsi burner!

Thx

You can't burn slower than the slowest burning speed supported by your CD/DVD drive.

Even if you use another program that allows you to select a slower burning speed than your drive supports, the drive will just burn at its slowest supported burning speed instead of the selected speed.

I suggest you try other CD-R media or other burning drives.

I use Maxell CD-R Pro discs. They are quality Taiyo Yuden based discs. They work fine in just about any finicky deck I have come across.

They are a little more pricey than most... Second choice is Verbatim.

I picked up some Maxell CD-R Pro discs at Walmart during lunch. They were not very cheap at $10 / 25 pack, but it could have been worse. The first audio cdr I burned at 8x seems to play ok in my car (2000 Acura TL, the Bose cd players are infamous for not working with cdr media). Finally! I have tried sony, verbatim, imation, fuji, maxell (non-pro), hp, memorex. These seem to work ok, I need to troll the net to find a bulk deal on them.

Thanks for the tip!

Update - eek! $10 at Wallyword is better than I can find online! Buy.com and Amazon are both much higher! Crazy, usually I get all me media from one of those two places.

Try to find a 50 pack spindle of Fuji CD-Rs MADE IN JAPAN. They should be the same as Maxell PRO.

Hard to find those retail around here and you never know what you will get at an online shop. I might have about 4 of these left from a couple of years ago... By all means, they are more affordable if you can find them.
