I have a couple of them due to an RMA mistake... Have the latest firmware on the one I have installed on my P965 based rig, will probably put the other one in my nForce4 SLI rig when I have time. This is my first Pioneer DVD burner... perhaps my expectations were a bit high with all the Pioneer fans praising their drives, but I consider it average... Does a great job with Verbatim DVD+R (though you can't bitset yet -- can't find a firmware for it that does), but I was disappointed with the Verbatim DVD-R writes... It did a great job with my Taiyo Yuden -R 8x media, but it's all gone now. I ordered an LG GSA-H62N (SATA based on Renesas chip in the H42/44 series drives)... waiting for that to replace my LG GSA-H22N so I can be all SATA and off of the damn Jmicron controller for good.hoxlund wrote:any new news or info on this drive?
If that is what you are looking for, then you'll be pretty happy with it, but it has struggled reading some of my burned discs... Reminds me a bit of my old NEC ND-3500A, which could barley read a disc it burned.hoxlund wrote:i loved it because of the rip-speed unlock
