GSA-H50N vs GSA-H54N??

What is the difference between LG's GSA-H50N and the GSA-H54N? The reason for asking is that I am building a new system for a client and need to choose between these two drives. the 54N is actually a dollar cheaper than the 50N here.

Usage of the DVD drive will be very basic, e.g., no videos, LightScribe, etc..... mainly data and some audio files only.

A speedy reply would be most appreciated since I plan on putting in my order for the system tomorrow morning.

If I remember right, both drives use Panasonic chipsets. The specs are similar as well. I think the only real difference is the support for SecurDisc on the H55N

Thanks for the speedy reply. But.....

1) It's the H54N, not the H55N that I was curious about vs. the H50N. hehe

2) Okay.. what is "SecurDisc"? Probably, since I haven't a clue what it is, the client won't either and probably would never use it.

Barring any real difference between the two drives, which makes me wonder why LG released the H54N, I guess the H50N which has been tried and found to be a very good drive by many, despite it being an older model would work fine..... yes?

Oops.. I meant the 54N. The 55N is a 20x drive.

As far as to why... I have a feeling that from a mechanical perspective, the 54N and 55N are the same drive. It's probably cheaper for LG to manufacture one drive design and limit the writing speeds in the firmware. Lite-On does the same sort of thing.
