Anyone Buying An Apple TV?

Postby Ian on Wed Mar 21, 2007 3:30 pm

I guess the Apple TV started shipping yesterday. Personally, I can't get excited about it. Any of you thinking about buying one?

Nope, doesn't have normal TV support, and no Divx or Xvid support either.

The Slingcatcher though from what I heard about it CES time is pretty cool.

If Apple adds DVR capabilities and some other features to their AppleTV device, it could REALLY be good.

Got a ReplayTV, got Windows MCE 2005 I can load on a box if I need to, got Bittorrent. Why would I need an AppleTV?

I REALLY can't believe it's HD only. I mean, it's one thing to be "optimized for HD" but I think Apple may have totally missed the mark on that one little thing.

They're going to get a LOT of returns, I bet...

So, all this thing does it let people play their DRMed iTunes movies on their TV? There is NO chance I'd pay a penny for Hollywood to shove their DRM infested crap down my throat
