Circuit City closing some stores

Postby bill on Sun Feb 11, 2007 9:22 am

Circuit City is struggling to make a profit. This is a sad one for me because their HQ is in Richmond VA..

Circuit City Stores Inc., the nation's No. 2 consumer electronics retailer, said Thursday it plans to close seven domestic Superstores, a Kentucky distribution center and 62 company-owned stores in Canada to cut costs and improve its financial performance.

They should take notice of Best Buys lead with regard to rebates, reduce them and you get more traffic for the profitable items.

I really don't like shopping at Circuit City. The store layout bothers me and as you pointed out, the rebates are a PITA.

As your quote states, Circuit City is closing 62 "The Source by Circuit City" stores in Canada. They're basically just rebadged Radioshack stores, and they sell nothing but overpriced junk. Circuit City needs to bring real CC stores to Canada! :D
