No Wii under the Festivus Pole

Postby algrinch on Fri Dec 22, 2006 10:38 am

Looks like it will be a green christmas. Its raining outside like a scene from Blade Runner.

Along with the rain will be tears.... no present under the tree for my son. The holy grail of presents (Wii) is unattainable. ...too cheap to pay one cent more than retail....

But I do not dispair, we will still have Festivus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Festivus) with the feats of strength and the airing of greivances.

HAPPY FESTIVUS EVERYONE!

My wife and her teacher friends used to celebrate festivus. They even had the pole. To me, it was just an excuse for them to drink heavily and complain about students.

maybe I should put my fesitvus pole in a box and give it as a gift.... I will be sure not to tape that picture to it if I do that.....

My girlfriend doesn't fall for my Jedi mind tricks, so I doubt she will go for this either...

Well Festivus has finally come to the AlGrinch household. I just found a Nintindo Wii today. I have been looking since December. I walked into Walmart in Tillsonburg and got the last one of their most recent shipment. Most of the stores get one shipment a week which sells out within an hour. Unless you happen to hit the store in that timeframe you are out of luck.

I have to say this thing is very cool. I worked up a bit of a sweat playing the boxing game with my son. The controller works surprisingly well.

Honest, I bought it for my son, not myself..... if I keep saying this will it be true?

I thought you were going to Punta Cana with the kids this week?

Why are you still here with another snow storm coming ?

Good thinking to try out little Tburg for a Wii bit. Its still a hard to find item.

My son will be keeping his Wii at his Mom's house. They have Wi-Fi, so my son will be online. We haven't had time to get the online aspects set up yet. I don't have a wireless router at my house, although I am sure the Wii will come with him on weekends.

My son is keen to install Opera Browser and download Goldeneye 007 from N64 days.

I am very impressed with the thought and versitility that went into this thing. It is also encouraging that it is selling so well. Gamecube was always a little behind in game availability especially at rental places. I am thinking if sales keep up the way they are, wii has a chance of out pacing PS3 and gaining more attention from game developers.

I just got back from a week in Punta Cana and will have more time to see what I can do with the Wii.

by the way I think the name is very cool.

Once you own one you can say things like: "I spent all afternoon playing with my Wii"
