I need a new burner #999999999999999...

My nec 3500ag only detects as a cd burner now....it will not play a dvd or burn one. Ive had it since they pretty much came out..They were the drive to have for cheap and the firmware was modded for quicker ripping.
But I know see the NECs are the drive NOT to have..


I need a good burner. I burn movies. I use -r 16x memorex media..DL could be nice when the media comes down in price. I dont do alot of ripping but once in a while I do. I would say about $30 to 50 dollars in price.

Well since I had allready ordered a new drive I decided to go ahead and do some flashing on the Nec3500ag... Nothing to lose...after several upgrades in firmware I finally came across Liggys 2.1B...And now everything works fine....Just as before....

So with my new PIONEER|DVR-111D drive comming tommorow, Should I use the Nec for reading and the pioneer for writing while backing up originals??? Or the other way around???

the nec firmware has riplock and rpc patched. Im sure hacks are out for the 111d but would they be usefull for me with the NEC hacked??
