I like to know if you have any preference among the Verbatim 8x and 16x DVD±Rsdolphinius_rex wrote: . . .
I now use Acro Circle 16x DVD+Rs, Verbatim 8x and 16x DVD±Rs, and Maxell BQ 8x DVD-Rs (in order of importance from least to most).

regarding the real manufacturer: Prodisc, CMC Mag or MBI ?
And this according to the distinction explained for example by lordyu here:

MediumRare wrote:Is that a spacer that slipped into the jewel case (like they often put on the top of a spindle)? That still doesn't speak for their QA system but could explain what's going on.

I've seen a lot more defects on TY CD-Rs lately as well, but nothing NEARLY as bad as with the DVDRs. I would say all Taiyo Yuden DVD±R media is affected though.

In that case, I'm glad I still have a 100 CD-R spindle in a half of the 1160s from last year still handy. If the CD-Rs are that bad, I may be buying Verbatim when I run out. Of course, I'll come back here and check again when it's time. Thanks man!

Justin42 wrote:Hrrrm, not sure. I know the Maxell 4X DVD-R (not+R, like you have) TY Bonding sucks. Strangely, no other brand seemed to have that problem, but I've read a lot of problems (Search around these forums) that Maxell's batches of TY had some issues.

Or rather, it WAS. It's more MBIL now.

I still haven't seen any MBIL Verbatim media in the US. Still mostly CMC and Prodisc around here where I am.
