Nero Errors

Postby Draven99 on Thu Jul 27, 2006 12:31 pm

hey guys, I'm kinda new to this forum but I've got an interesting situation here. I've recently purchased 50 LG GSA h10N's and 50 BenQ DW1650 burners with external chassis to install in the office here. A few of the employee's have been running into an error, however. Essentially, nero likes to say to queue again later, then pauses for a long period of time. At which point, it just fails the burn process. As I'm at a different location at the moment, I do not have any log files available. I do have a screenshot oft he backitup utility screen that went bad.

After much forum surfing I've come to the conclusion that either its the media, the burners firmware, or the burn speed.

We're using Ridata -R DVD's and currently just have the out of the box firmware installed on all machines. I know there are firmware updates for the LG and I have applied them all, but I am unable to find one for the BenQ.. The only thing I found released for here was the BCDC. Will that even help with the problem? Also, could it be the 8x burn speed with that media? I've heard that burning too fast will cause errors like these.

Atached to this is a screenshot of the Backitup utility and the error it received. It is possible that I willb e able to post a log file later on today once I get to the affected building and trouble shoot from there. Any suggestions or trouble shooting tips would be welcome.

Thanks for your time

Adam

Forgot a few things

We are running nero Express 6.6.0.14 OEM that came with the drives. The error that came in was also in regards to the files being burned were too large for the DVD. Could this cause the problem?

New Info

Was just checking the firmware versions on the burners, my prototype (aka 1 of the 50 Benq's) is running firmware BCFC, so I'm reluctant to do an update to BCDC as it seems to be an older version.. maybe BenQ just needs to work on their naming conventions ;)

Without a log file, a complete log file, it's difficult to properly assist you.

But you are essentially correct in your findings, based on the 'Queue again later' error message.

Did you determine if slower write speeds, or a different brand of media resolves the issue?
