Does Tin Foil really stop an RFID signal?

Postby aviationwiz on Wed Aug 30, 2006 12:34 am

Does anyone know if tin foil really stops or severely limits an RFID signal?

Just wondering if wrapping my e-Passport inside tin foil would be effective in stopping any scanners from picking up my passport.

Yes, Wiz, in the generic sense it does.

However, in the real reality, real tin foil is hard to come bye.
Consequently, I use Aluminum foil as it is readily available.
But that's good, because of it's greater inherent electrical conductivity
combined with occular reflectivity,
it is plenty many much better than real tin foil.

I wear my
foil deflector under my cowboy hat all the time.
I'm able to work with out the distraction of those who are trying to control my mind.

These really work.

One caution however: when I take my monthly shower,
I have to ground myself and the deflector beanie to the toilet.

For a double check, ask Hoxlund and Monte.
They wear them all the time and I heard about it from them. =D>

I think lead would be better but it's hard to come by these days because some people say it's toxic,I used to eat lead paint everyday and it hasn't effected me.
I also use the tinfoil beanie and it has kept the government from reading my thoughts.

Yeah, I use my heavy duty beanie with three layers of foil when filling out my income tax returns.
By keeping the IRS thought controllers out, I save thousands!

I've been wearing one for years and it has helped me from getting into accidents. However, the idiot that totaled my truck 2 weeks ago was not wearing one. A lot of good it did me! At least it wasn't my fault.

Foil lined underwear also prevents them from loosening your sphincter
and making you crap in your thong underwear.

It would be OK in regular briefs because they hold crap better.

At my age, I foil line my DEPENDS! :P

Sorry, about the truck, RR.
Glad that you are OK! :D
