nrestore (Backitup) Vers. 1.03

Postby piperdave on Mon Jun 26, 2006 9:56 pm

Ahh the dreaded 1.03. Ive been trying for quite some time to restore an entire hard drive encompassing 9 dvd+rw's (memorex) for quite some time now, to no avail. The disks have no scratches, in good condition, and i have a 200gb hard drive ready to recieve the data. I tried to back it up to an external 200gb hard drive, and it doesnt work. Anyone know if its possible? I booted from dos, selected my dvd drive, skipped through all the caldera-dos problems and made it to the nrestore screen. I got a "Please check CD and HDD devices for error free". So i am at an impass....is there any help line for this? I will pay the LD charges and everything i just would like to retrive the information. Any help would be much appreciated and if anything needs clarification dont hesitate to ask.

If anyone knows of a good company that would restore these DVDs to an external hard drive, please let me know

Hi PiperDave,

Sorry for not responding, but I've been out of action for a few weeks. :-(

How is the Hard Drive connected to the system? Meaning the one you are attempting to restore too?

What error messages are you getting when you boot to Caldera Dos?

I'm batting about 50/50 in helping customers restore their backups, when they send them to me directly. Though the last 5 attempts on my end have been failures. :-(

But most of those have been due to poor media, damaged media, or missing discs. But a few have been, or so I believe, poor backups by the older version of Nero BackitUp.

If you like, you can send me an Email at techsupport4@nero.com and we can arrange for you to send me the discs to see if I can restore them for you.

Regards,

Craig
