Ian, I paid $360, plus I think $25 for the Side Saddle. Keep in mind the Speedfeed stock & Ghost Ring sights are extra...still, I got a good deal on it :)
Edit: Prices apear to have gone up :( :http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=50120218

Bill, the model 590 holds 9 rounds; 8 in the mag, or 7+1 with 3" Magnums. I've never had a single feed problem, even after several hundred rounds w/o cleaning. Look here for the specs:
http://www.mossberg.com/products/defaul ... play=specs

And scroll down to the "SPECIAL PURPOSE SHOTGUN - 590® SPECIAL PURPOSE - 9 SHOT".

Mines the item # 50688...

I'd really like to get the thing Vang Comp'd (https://www.vangcomp.com). It'd improve the patterns with buckshot and improve accuracy with slugs. I would NOT however, get the compensator ports on the thing. Magnums bother me about as much as birdshot nowadays...besides, if I get the .458 Lott I want, I need something mild to warm up with

Thanks again, MonsterMan.

I started calling around and couldn't find the model 50688 in stock. I might wait for a gun show so I can handle one before the purchase..

BTW, I was quoted as low as $450 ( volume dealer ) and as high as $540.
