What free DVD burning software you use?

I need to remove some files on HD. What free DVD software there is to burn data with a compare after the burn to ensure I will ba able to retreive my original files after my system cleanup?

Yet I only found DeepBurner but it does not support verification after burn.

Well, you can use DeepBurner to burn, then run a transfer rate test in Nero CD Speed for see if the disc is readable. If you end up with a nice smooth curve with no slowdowns, you're in good shape.

Yeah I found CDCheck that will compare files, pretty cool.

But now my problem is with an ISO file I have. DeepBurner only burn 363MB of it instead of 4GB. Don't know what's wrong.

I tried BackupMyFiles that works with a rightclick over a files or directory and when I tried with the ISO it prompted my if I wanted to burn the image of the ISO or the file itself. Unfortunatly, BackupMyFiles does not support RW medias.

Well, I think I will install Nero that comes with the drive. Forgot this was included in the box.

Keep suggestions coming, may serve those who bought OEM package.

DVDDecrypter or Imgburn will burn image files and verify,I highly recommend them for DL burning.

CDCheck is great, i use it all the time!

For the "mission critical" stuff, I use QuickPar to make recovery files. That way, even if part of the data is corrupt, I should be able to recover it.

if you want to burn DVDs with it, you need to install cdrecord-ProDVD. it is free for research or educational porposes.
be sure to read this faq: DVD General FAQ
in it you'll find a link to the ProDVD README which contains a key.

i've used burnatonce in the past for burning CDs, it's great. haven't used it for DVDs though.
i probably will try it out sometime.
