Who is the German guy in those new VW GTI commercials? I swear I've seen him in movies and stuff.

yeah, he played various parts here and there.

this new (? at least here in Israel it's new) TV show Prison Break (thaks burninfool) about the 2 guys escaping from prison, he's a Mafia guy Abruzzi in the prison in charge of the work details.
the Eye Doctor in Minority Report.
