Yeah, I laughed my ass off when I heard that. That's what happens when two old farts go out hunting. And then people wonder why this country is going down the tubes.

Really? That's why? I thought it was a series of poor decisions, intentionally miscommunicated information, and ignoring the functions of other branches of government. But if we just had to keep Cheney from hunting, then cool.

No, Cheney is just one of the people making the poor decisions, etc..

I was just saying that someone at his age, with diminished mental capacities should not be out hunting.

There were some jokes about this incident Monday the 13th on late night TV, however, there is news today, the 14th, that the situation has taken a turn for the worse and the man who was shot has had a heart attack.

Just a rumor at this point, but listening to Sirius on the way home, apparently, Dickie may have been accompanied by a female ambassador to Switzerland on this "hunting" trip. Certainly not your typical guest to be hanging around the VP, with a gun no less.

What do you suppose she was doing on a "hunting" trip w/the VP?

:-k

Now there is a perfectly good reason why the spin doctors got 16+ hours before the story got out to the press. :-#

Funny thing is, the story was given to the press by the owner of the ranch that this happened on, do you suppose she was "asked" (read TOLD) not to say anything to the press?

BTW, if that were you or me, wouldnt we have been carted away to jail (although most likely out on bail) if we had:

A) Shot someone while hunting and waited an hour to call the police, or

B) Been hunting w/o the proper $7 stamp on our hunting license (heard it on the news, not sure if it is actually true, but....)

I am curious to see what (if anything) happens to Dickie boy if this guy actually dies as a result of this incident. I envision nothing happening because 1) he is the VP, and 2), it happened in Texas, and we all know who hails from Texas, don't we?

I know this was an accident, but the way this was handled is absolutely ridiculous. I am not a lawyer, but if he was hunting illegally (if that is true), and shot someone, (technically, he shouldn't have been hunting in that situation), does that make the shooting incident worse from a legal standpoint, especially if he dies?

This makes me wish I were up to speed on hunting laws in Texas. Often times people reporting are really ignorant and misreporting hunting laws. It may be that if he was on private land that he didn't need any stamp.

Man, I'm really upset at Cheney for being such a high profile gun rights advocate and making such a high profile series of mistakes from gun safety to responsible responses if an accident happens. No matter what the law states, he made a huge error in judgement in that the accident happened and then made a huge error in judgement in simply not dealing with it. Period.

You can spin a mistake, "I made a huge error, I'm not fit to hunt right now, I need to train more, I apologize." You can't spin decided courses of action in which your course of action is to avoid the truth. Well, this administration can.

No chain gun, but I just popped a 61. It's fun taking shots @ Hillary.

Peace mode doesn't have the "target" shooting back at you

Thanks for the link Ian.
