Testing DVD-media for longevity

DVD-R/W, DVD+R/RW, DVD-RAM

Thanks for the comments.

We'll consider a couple of jewel case runs, if we have capacity. This is still unsure, as I'm collecting samples, trying to figure which ones to take in, which to leave out, how many samples / disc type, etc.

The CI pockets are for my own personal interest as I've bought some for myself. I'm eager to see if they have any positive (or even negative?) effect during the baking process.

BTW, I just fetched (for full retail price, off a local store, with full DVD tax and everything) :

-TDK DVD-R 16x, jewel case: DVD-R47ED, TDK Recording Media Eruope (no 'made in' info), MID: TTH02, inner hub: DVD-R 4906A2 / C05C031309cA343

-TDK DVD+R 8x Scratch Proof, jewel case: DVD0R47SPEC, TDK Recording Media Europe/Australia/Singapore (no 'made in' info), MID: TDK002, inner hub: DVD+R 4420C2 / C05F051418rA311

TDK DVD-R 8x (the one I pasted above earlier) is the most available, most sold in most shops (after Verbatim). DVD+R sells much less, 16x DVD-R is very scarce, scratch proof media is not so common and is more expensive (hence, not so popular).

Still don't know which ones I'll pick from the huge selection of different TDKs available. I must pick one at least, but it's a tough choice.

BTW, don't spend time digging up the chem stability stuff, I can do it. You've all helped a lot already, don't want to burden you :)

cheers,

The good news is that those serials are consistant with my made in Luxembourg TTH02. This means they're made by TDK themselves, not CMC Magnetics. 8)

Yes it's made by TDK.(luxenbourg)
But the question is what will the majority be of 16x TDK -R when it ships to the market.
