I was just wondering what the best DVD-Rom drive for reading pressed original DVD disks with slight error problems is.
It is not copied DVDR disks i am asking about (when ever i ask this people always go on to say use better DVD-R media). It is pressed movie disks that i wish to backup and wish to have good error correction DVD-Rom drive to get past any faults if one is present (which usually does unfortionantly with frequent use).
I have been googling and apparently the Esus 616A or the Plextor 130a are if i understand correctly the best. But which is the better of the two and the one to go for?.
Also some shops sell the Asus 616P1. What is the difference between this and the 616A?.
Or are there any better DVD-Rom drives that can do DVD-Rom error correction better than those two that can be still bought today.
I currently have the Aopen 1648/LKY after people recommended the 1648 AAP. (stupid me thought the LKY and AAP where the same drive just different firmwares). Is this a good drive or is it not as good as the AAP. (is there anyway you can cross flash it to the AAP?)
But i would like a good second DVD-rom drive to use with this and good pressed DVD disk error correction capablity is all that concerns me. Ripping Speed or CD correction or anything else does not concern me.
So which drive to you recommend (Also i do not wish to have a DVD-Burner just a DVD-rom)
Thank You
Anthony
