What settings to use with Imgburn to backup DVD's?

I want to make a 1:1 copy of my DVD's. I have already ripped the DVD's to the hard drive. I want to use Imgburn to load up the files and burn it on to Verbatim DVD+R DL. All I have to do is just change the bitsetting to DVD-ROM and that's all I need to get it to work with DVD players? Any other settings that I need to worry about?

One last thing, how do I change the bitsetting with IMGburn? Thanks!

Btw, I'm using a BenQ 1640 with BSMB firmware!

The easiest way to make a 1:1 backup is use DVDDecrypter(see below)->ISO Read->ISO Write.ImgBurn can only be used with image files(.iso,.img,etc) and if you need to make an image file use ImgTool(see below).You should use the BenQ BookType Management v8.4 or QSuite to change booktype.

many (most?) burning apps let you manage booktype nowadays.

in DVD Decrypter ISO Write mode, and in ImgBurn Write mode, click on the little icon on the right hand side of the burn speed pull-down list. it opens a dialog that lets you change booktype.
you can do this with CDSpeed also.

note: not all players prefer DVD-ROM booktype! you need to check on your player.
my Sony won't play DVD+RW booktyped as -ROM but will play them as +RW. go figure.

it's about DVD Decrypter, but they are similar programs, many of the settings in Tools->Settings are the same.

Are those options necessary that burninfool proposed in the other thread? I heard it's best to change the booktype to DVD-ROM and that's the best case for compatibility? Any other things that I need to change in Imgburn? Should I burn it at 4x speed? Should I use the latest BenQ firmware or BSMB is good enough?

Your best bet with DVDD is to leave the settings at default, as once recommended by the author. The only exceptions I personally do are making sure the auto update is NOT ticked, as Macrovision now owns DVDD and is no doubt tracking all the hits for updates , and I personally crank the buffer to max 256. By doing this I have noticed a complete stop to buffer "dancing", although not on the device buffer with select drives ie 2MB drives VS 8MB.

With ImgBurn, also use defaults, LUK knows what he's doing. I personally like changing the booktype to DVD-Rom for compatability, most people do. As far as speed, if your computer, drive and media are up to it, rated speeds are no problem. I have no problem's burning good media at 8X or even 16X, but I stick mainly to Taiyo Yuden & Verbatim media, with a small smattering of Ricohjpn to keep me honest .
