Which media to buy?

What would you recomend?
I should mention that I have a LG 4163 burner w/ A105 fw.
Maybe someone will notice that there is also an TY media but prices for those are too high (33% and more higher than the other types of media) so thats too much for the moment.

No E-net products because of the questionable quality.
No B-quality brands like arita

So that leaves over one disc. Yes Philips CMC -R disc's.
Beter hope that your drive likes them. I don't know how good the LG works with this CMC media but incase it sucks hmm then your quite screwed.
You could use TY and accept up to 25% fall out rate of bad bonded disc's.
Hey and incase of Philips there is a waranty on the media.

What about the RitekG05 media.
I have used this once or twice and I got good results.
But that was a TraxData, here I can only see Ritek, RiData and RiDisc media. Is this quality Ritek media or not?

I have tried some CMC MAG AE1 media (as datawrite) but it didn't gave me good results. Can this philips be better?

I'd like to see some outside information about 25% bad bonding rate with TY because it seems like you're the only one saying this. If TY was having that many problems it'd be all over the Japanese DVD burning sites since TYG02 is probably the single most popular DVD-R media in Japan.

Many folks have problems with the newer Ritek G05 media, either it doesn't burn well or it gets bad after a period of time My Settop burner seems to like it so I'm hoping the bunch I have holds up OK.

Hey look like majority of these DVD discs are "Home Made" Disc. The only one I would trust is HP one.

When you can rip apart the two layers of plastic with your bare hands, it's not a properly bonded disc

And FYI, the reason it's not more commonly known, is partially because TY is trying to keep it quiet, and partially because no one wants to admit it could be possible.

1 People don't like to test on it.
2 TY likes to keep things as quiet as possible.
3 People like to keep things quiet because it means that they probally come to the bad conclusions:
A there media isn't as safe as they liked it to be.
B Comming to the conclusion that we can't trust any manufacturer and that each buy is gamble. There is no safe option.

Okay I might be very unlucky with a rate close to 25% still as some of my great contacts have proven and with the huge variation this is not a one time incident like TY and a lot of people like to believe.
If it was a single batch then how would you explain the behaviour with that many brands and unbranded media and that different MID codes.
The problem goes up from 2x to the newer 16x and can be seen on +R and -R and it doesn't matter if it's branded,printable or not.

I'm sorry for being the messenger of the bad news that with the current prices and products we can trust no manufacturer.
Only it is a fact that some brands like to do beter as others and that some brands /manufacturers at least try to be constructive.

Ohwell these days I at least burn all my important stuff triple and non important stuff double !. Using allways different technologies and manufacturers !.

And in case you're interested, my company went through ~1 million Taiyo Yuden DVD-Rs (mostly 4x, but a good portion 8x and some 16x) this year. I personally sample them from time to time to see how the bonding is doing.

Why do I mention this? I go through many MANY different batches of media over the course of a year
