LG GSA-4164@4166 and HP dvd840@4166 1.01

Postby ItalianJob on Tue Dec 27, 2005 5:19 pm

Two users have crossflashed 4164@4166 1.01 (but without LS support) and HP dvd840@4166 1.01 with this zip : http://members.aol.com/mp3mogul/4166B.zip (courtesy of cdrinfo).

I think I've got to keep it somewhere... A good LG official hack 8)

Note : LG GSA-4164 seems to be sold with some Dell computers...

So they've turned them into 4166's but they still lack LS support? What's the point then?

4164 seems to lack LS with 4164 firmware, yes.

But HP dvd840 is LS and can be crossflashed to 4166 1.01 (newest firmware) with LS support.

Yeah, the 4164 is essentially a 4166 minus LS.. but what you're saying is that you can get that back with the 4166 firmware, right?
