what other codecs?

ive tried installing the lates media player 10 including codecs, divx latest codecs. but i still cant run a dvd movie directly from my dvd drive. in media player only the audio plays, in divx player only the video plays. shesh.

are there other codec packs that can support dvd formats or movies for direct watching from the drive. suggestions. tnx.

You have to buy a DVD playing program (i.e., Cyberlink PowerDVD, WinDVD, etc) in order to get the proper configuration to play DVDs.

Someone (either the DVD-Forum or MPEG group) charges royalties, which is why you can't get it for free.
