Nero 7 and Drive Buffer Fluctuations - Bug

Postby tazdevl on Thu Nov 24, 2005 6:25 pm

This has to be a bug with Nero 7.

Tried TY 8X +/-, Ritek 8X +/- and Verbatim 8X +R.

Drive is a HL DT ST GWA-4082N, XP Pro SP2 fully updated.

Burning a Data DVD, UDF... 4.4GB of MP3s

- Nero 7, BOClean 4.12, NOD32 2.5, ZoneAlarm 6.1 and SpySweeper 4.5 DISABLED... drive buffer fluctuates between 98% and 10%. Had a few coasters to boot.

- Nero 6.6, BOClean 4.12, NOD32 2.5, ZoneAlarm 6.1 and SpySweeper 4.5 ENABLED... no fluctuations in the drive buffer whatsoever.. pegged at 97% the whole burn. No coasters.

Tried different media... alternated between same media (top disc in stack, next one with other version of Nero) with Nero 7 and Nero 6.6.

Anyone else seeing this?

I did also. With nero 6 the drive buffer would be 89-100% full, with nero 7 the buffer would fluctuate as low as the 40's.

Ahead needs to release nero as a beta to testers , like to 1000 people and wait for feedback.

Hi Tazdevl/Eric93Se,

Could one or both of you send me an Email at Techsupport4@nero.com so that I can see what is going on and try and duplicate this issue?

I've not seen this in any of my testing, but I have not been actively looking for this symptom.

Regards,

Craig
