I put the PI/PIF scan on line just as a indication because the drive is able to produce a graph. I do not know what such as scan is really worth.

In the future I will only post transfer rate curves made with this new Lite-ON SOHD 16P9S drive and the FS09 firmware patched by" Codeguys"

Sure it is! Just because the end of the disc is more likely to be problamtic, does not mean that it's not important to test smaller then 4GB discs. Transfer rate tests are STILL more useful in testing media then PI/PIF scans done on DVD-ROM's (maybe if there is like 0.5GB on the disc it'd be stupid though!).

Back on topic here, it looks like with Optodisc being nearly bought out by that Japanese company, the chances of Optodisc and Prodisc merging have become quite slim. However hopes are high that Japanese companies like Pioneer and Plextor will now begin taking them a little more seriously.

Yes. I saw good scans but bad transfer-rates at the end of several media.

So I burned a video of 4,36 GB to the same medias
with a Pioneer A07 (firmware 1.21)
and the tranfer rates curves are still good even if they do not look completely "clean" after 4 GB:

I know my posts are slightly off topic but I think that it is interesting to know about the quality of Optodisc medias sold so cheap under the surprising brand "DEJA".
So this was my last post with graphs
but still hope to have the opinion of you experts
about these 2 Optodisc DVD's 8x certified mediacodes
before I buy some more ...

Wow!! You got OPTODISCR008 to burn that well on a Pioneer A07?!?!

That's something I've never been able to do for quite some time! I've even gotten it blacklisted on compatability firmwares sent out by some of Optodisc's vendors, in the hopes of preventing A07 owners from purchasing the media for that drive

Other then the PX-712a, the DVR-107/A07 is the only drive I've had major problems with OPTODISCR008 media on.

Note: the burns on the Pioneer A07 were not made at 8x Z-CLV
but only at 4x CLV

I have already done a "creating data disc"
of this Optodisc R008 mediacode
with a NEC 3500 firmware 2.1A (Liggy)
and I posted the tests here:

So I sacrifized an other of this DVD-R for a Creating Data Disc with my Pioneer A07 (firmware 1.22 by now)
and post it here for you.
I had less good quality after the 3,5 GB mark
for this creating data disc burned with CD DVD Speed v4.07
than with the videos burned in the DVD-video format with Nero 6.6.0.16.
Maybe there is some reason why ...

Has anyone heard anything more about this merger? According to DigiTimes, both companies are looking for investors. I find it surprising they'd be looking that far into the future if a merger is in the near future.
