Known changes include:
-Making MAM-A CD-R media work in their drive
(you get 3 guesses where I got this info, and the first 2 don't count )

Not sure what you're referring to, I've found that the PX-716 is actually quite a good burner. Not as good as the DW1640, but probably about the same as the Pioneer DVR-109.

Umm hate to break it to you by TY is usually a HIGHER quality of media than MCC, not a LOWER one. MCC usually means Verbatium which usually means CMC QA
I own a 716 (0203), a 109XL (1.58 ) and a Benq1640 (bslb) and the 716 usually beats the others when I use high qualtiy media...ofcourse when I experiment with lower qualtiy media ALL BETS ARE OFF due to media variances.
Give TY a try and see for yourself.

True... but look at some of the Made in India crap that's been causing problems for Verbatim.... and the stuff made by Prodisc isn't exactly steller either in my opinion
I am well aware of TY and have used plenty of the 4x and 8x medias. I wasn't saying TY was lower quaity than MCC. As far as MCC QA, MCC made in Taiwan by CMC or by Prodisc has higher quality than the medias those companies make with their own media codes.

Notice how they don't mention it
Yeah that because they don't care about MAM media who does any way ?
