Fearfull results with TY media. (BAD BONDING )

Does anybody know if the DVD-RAM's in general are manufactured with a better quality [also the bonding quality] than DVD R's
maybe just because less companies make DVD-RAM's in smaler quantities ?
and they are not intented to be sold so cheap ...

At the beginning I asked about bonding and manufacturing quality of DVD-RAM's in general.

I thougt the better quality could be the case because DVD-RAM is still manufactured in smal quantities
and it ended up in a interesting discussion about phase change material,

Anyway I burned some videos on the 3 types of DVD-RAM that I pictured above [on page 2] and I will keep them beside the same video on DVD R's (hopfully for 10 years)
Note: I read the videos burned on DVD-RAM with a standalone Panasonic DVD-S49

So, is anybody interested about starting a little discussion
about bonding quality in double layer ?
This is the question about DL discs I have been asking myself for a long time ...





Between the 2 recordables layers [in violet on the above picture]
there are:
- a semi transparent metal reflector
- a so called "spacer"
Is this spacer also made out of some kind of glue or is there glue everywhere between all the layers indicated on the above picture ?

Anyway how do you think are all these 8 layers behaving while the process of burning ?
What about if the heat produced by the laser is too high at certain points ?

Does at slow burn at 2,4x heat a lot more the recordable layers than a faster burn at 4x or 8x ??

Do all these glued layers remain perfectly flat after being heated by the laser during the burn ?


What I really like to know is if all these 8 layers I can count in DL disc
will remain properly and flat together hopefully (?) during years of conservation
if even some "high quality brand" SL discs with less layers are not glued properly ?

OKay I no longer can recommend Taiyo Yuden -R media at all.
With the current scale of bonding problems.
(Huge air under the innercircle./Bad bonded disc's. (Which you peel a part easilly yourself with just your fingers !!) /Disc's (allmost) falling a part when takeing them out of the jewelcase.)

So far the problems with +R media are small but I don't have any fate in a companny like this.

Currently TY has dropped from the top position to the lowest position when it comes to my used media.

SOme people complain that Riteks disc's might burn bad or age to fast. But the don't fall a part when take out of a jewelcase !!

Probally the worst DVD media in my collection.
So it seems that I'm stock with MCC these days and with the current reports about MBIL problematic disc's I think I'm also stuck with looking at the package to see if it's not made by MBIL.

Well that 5-pack was 4x media.
But 8x media is not much better it seems.
So far the +R media does better.
No problems with the verbatim pastels. And only 1 Bad Samsung +R but I still have a lot of packs left and I fear the worst. After today.
I went over all my TY -R media I still had and have another 5 disc's on 12 disc's !!!
