Q about InCD and Nero

Postby Albinoni on Tue Sep 06, 2005 11:45 pm

Nero allows InCD format to be created on CD-RW drives, basically allowing the user to use the Cd-RW like a HDD or large floppy. My Q here is that say I format a CD-RW into InCD format, burn files, software onto it etc, can I than insert that CD-RW disc into a normal CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive for it to read.

Yes, you can. Depending on the UDF version, Windows might be able to read the disc without installing any drivers. Otherwise you will need to download and install the InCD 4 reader:

it also depends on which version of Windows you are running.

I would recommend DirectCd or Drag-To-Disc for packet writing applications.I have been using the software for long time now & I have never faced any problems with it.Also,if the CD-RW is burned using D2D,then it has the reader setup on the disc itself. If the UDF reader is not installed on target system, the software from the disc is installed & you can then read the contents from the disc.
