I was thinking the same thing.
Release Reasons:
1. Modified the writing strategy for Ricoh 2.4x DVD+R DL media.
2. Improved the writing quality for MBI 16x DVD-R & Ricoh 8x DVD+R media.
3. Supported FTI 16x DVD+R & DVD-R media.
4. Improved the reading performance for CD-R & CD-ROM discs.
5. Modified the algorithm for 16x writing speed.

.
They have added RICOHJPN D01 and use the RICOHJPN D00 strategy for it. I do not know if the RICOHJPN D00 strategy was changed.ItalianJob wrote:>>1. Modified the writing strategy for Ricoh 2.4x DVD+R DL media.
DVD+R DL 2.4X RicohJPN D00 or D01 ?
Might be a company using MCC dye. They use FTI 016@MCC 004 and FTI RG16@MCC 03RG20 strategies.dolphinius_rex wrote:And I think the question on everyone's mind is..... WHO THE HECK IS FTI???

It was at that point a 1600 plus only unit 16x with 2.4 DL. Now it's a 1620 pro and does both plus and minus and 4x DL And it still works great too.
One of the best chances I ever took on a piece of gear in a long time.
