I first tried with the defaults (Non-activated for supported disc and Activated for unknown, Overspeed disabled) and it failed on two attempts about 1-2% in...after enabling SolidBurn it is now at 40%.
Now I just need to see if it can actually burn this Fake TY02 disc at 8x as my 1620 was never able to...
EDIT: Looks like it still is not able to burn the fake disc at 8x but at least the burn did complete.

A question about Solidburn: If I turn SB on to let the Benq learn the properties of the Infosmart-media, can I disable SB after the learning-process, because I sometimes use media like Verbatim? I mean, use the Benq the learned strategy for the Infosmart after disabling SB or use the Benq the standard-strategy?

I'm pretty sure learned strategies are active all the time, even if SolidBurn is turned off for the moment. That's based on my own test results with it, so it's an educated guess.

Thanks, dolphinius_rex
But on other hand this means, if the 1640 learned strategy´s for faked TY or MCC, I have to delete those strategy´s when I want to burn real TY and MCC, I guess.

It only helps for the first part. So it seems that it's working. I allready expected low quality fakes would be the real test candidates for this system)
It chooses the optimize strategy for the burn after it's choice the drive can only correct with WOPC if WOPC can't correct it because of to big differences which means it still might break off.

X-Data DVD-R 4x (GSC01) = Error when trying to write LeadIn
Hyundai DVD-R 4x (Infosmart01) = Error when trying to write LeadIn
Spike 8x DVD-R (Fake MCC02RG20) = 8x selected, only 2,4x real speed, no improvements, strategy not saved
Dartman wrote:Good for him I have that bug too. If you enable solid burn for known media most minus disk confuse the calibration routine and they end up burning at 2.4, horribly at that. Plus seems to be Ok so far and at Least Ritek G05 works OK with solid burn on, right to 16x.
If you leave the burner at default settings mosts disks burn a their rated speeds, including the problematic minus , with good quality. So if your burning Minus might want to give solid burn a test then you'll probably have to turn it off to get good fast burns.
