Can you suggest which drive would be the best for speed and quality of ripping? I was using a liteon combo drive and it worked fast, but i have been getting read errors that i dont get when i use the same disc in my DVD recorder to rip, so I would like to replace it.
Depends.. how much do you want to spend? The NEC and Benq 1620 drives have a read speed hacked FW available, which allows them to read DVDs at 16X max, but you may not want to justify this investment. In that case,I'd recommend a L-O combo drive (again

), which will allow you to rip at speeds up to 16X, or even a Lite-On or Asus DVD-ROM drive, specifically the 166S/167T or the E616 from Asus.
